After hours of testing, we have created the perfect Nectar AI review, with nothing but our sincere opinion on the good… and the bad.

What is Nectar AI?

Nectar AI is an AI girlfriend platform with a storytelling twist. In platforms like Candy AI and Lovescape AI (for example), each companion has a unique personality, but it's up to the user to, through chatting, develop the setting or interactive storytelling scenario that dictates the interaction.

On Nectar AI, things are done a little bit differently. Yes, every AI girlfriend is also unique, but the AI chats feature a sort of background story that puts you and them in a specific situation. Take AI girlfriend Eunji Kim, for example:

This AI character has a defined look and personality. But her chat (titled "K-Pop dancer leads you backstage") includes a background story (shown on the right side of the screen) that indicates how you and she should interact. Think of it as a sort of icebreaker…

The bright side is that you know what you're getting into from the beginning (in this case, the background story suggests some sort of personal AI conversations); the not-so-bright side is that this mechanic can limit user creativity.

Well, that's Nectar AI in a nutshell. Now, let's look at the platform in detail.

Creating an Account

To use Nectar AI for free (with limited features), you need to sign up for the website. This is pretty straightforward: just add your email or speed things up using your Apple, Discord, Google, or Telegram account.

Interestingly enough, Nectar AI also lets users register via crypto wallets. The wallets in the picture are just an example, as Nectar AI covers more than 500 (!) wallets! This indicates that crypto payments are at the very center of the platform's usage.

Exploring AI Chats

One of the chats we tested more extensively was "Late Payment", an interactive storytelling scenario starring AI character Jennifer Robbie as our landlord. As the title suggests, we're late on the payment. The conversation starts with Jennifer knocking frantically at our door.

To go with the flow, we decided to let Jennifer know we still don't have money. Then, we suggest an alternative approach:

Like a true playful AI chat, Jennifer jumps right into the attractive stuff. As for us, we were pleased to learn that Nectar AI's background stories do make things easier sometimes. Just like Jennifer, we too knew exactly how to play our character in the story.

While this can make things more predictable and less exciting, it's perfect for people who know what they're looking for. In this case, anyone looking for an engaging interactive scenario involving a woman in a dominant position (landlord) would be more than satisfied.

Creating AI Companions

Character creation options let you customize your companion

Like most advanced AI platforms, Nectar AI has a feature for creating custom AI girlfriends. The character engine is mainly option-based, meaning you have to select your favorite option for each category. For "Body Type", for example, we went for "Petite".

At a certain point, you have the opportunity to enter text prompts to configure the AI girlfriend's personality. You can also select her name and add additional physical traits like tattoos or glasses. We wanted our AI girlfriend, Lila, to be a dominant, confident woman.

After entering the text prompts, you just need to press "Complete" to generate the AI girlfriend. In our tests, image generations seldom took more than 1-2 minutes. This is what our AI girlfriend Lila looks like:

After creating our first AI girlfriend, we were very impressed by Nectar AI! However, we immediately noticed that the platform has a crucial flaw: it doesn't let you chat with the AI girls you create!

We looked for our AI girlfriend Lila everywhere, including the "Discover" section, our profile, and our chat messages. We simply couldn't find her. So, even though Nectar AI gives you an option to "Save" after generating the character (which we activated), Lila seemingly disappeared out of thin air…

This begs the question: if you can't do anything with your custom companions on Nectar AI, what's even the point of creating them? Sure, it was fun to see Lila come to life, but that was it… We've been around AI girlfriends a lot, and this was by far our shortest AI relationship!

Nectar AI could be much better if there were a way of creating custom AI chats with background stories like the one from Jennifer, the landlord. But hey, maybe that's a big ask. What's truly unforgivable is that you can't even have a simple chat with generated AI characters on the platform, as this is something you can do in the vast majority of advanced AI chat platforms.

Generating AI Images

The image generator relies on text prompts

The final feature in Nectar AI is the image and video generator, where all instructions are prompt-based. This is a little bit different from the typical approach, which uses a hybrid of text prompts and choice-based categories (like "Hair Style", "Background", and so forth).

The choice-based categories are useful because they remind the user of certain parameters that must be in the instructions. On Nectar AI, all of these have to be written by the user, which can be tiring… But is the image generator any good?

On one of our tests, we used the following prompt (as you can see, we had to write a lot to include the few details that we needed):

"Tall woman with muscular physique, background gym, hairstyle short hair, eye color green, action lifting weights, clothes in yellow, include some tattoos."

Based on these instructions, Nectar AI generated the following image:

Processing time was quite fast, and the image is, overall, satisfactory. The woman could be more muscular (she's a bit slim), but the rest is there. Oh, and we love how her face has some serious Angelina-Jolie vibes.

Nectar AI Pricing

Nectar AI offers three tiers of premium subscriptions

These are the 2026 pricing options for Nectar AI. With a premium account, you can bypass one of the platform's biggest flaws and design AI characters you can indeed interact with. One problem remains, though: even premium accounts are limited to as little as one customized persona. To get the maximum (10), you need to pay at least $14.99 per month, which is a lot.

For unlimited generations on the other stuff (non-interactive AI characters and AI images), you need to pay for the Pro or Ultimate package, which renders the "Premium" option a bit obsolete.

Nectar AI: Our Verdict (7/10)

So, is Nectar AI really the "drink of the Gods", or is it just an AI girlfriend platform without a place in history? Our opinion of Nectar AI is generally positive, but we don't like that you can't use the free trial to explore the website's main feature: the AI chats with storytelling.

Nevertheless, we have decided to give Nectar AI a 7/10 score because of how fun it can be to explore some of the available AI chats. We spent many hours interacting with characters like Jennifer, the landlord, and were pleasantly surprised by the diversity we found. Moreover, most AI chats worked pretty well.

Like the score of 7 suggests, Nectar AI is a good AI girlfriend platform, but nothing extraordinary. It's a place to have fun, for sure, but far from the most complete, immersive, and affordable AI companion experience one can have. The "nectar" was the drink of the Gods, but Nectar AI still needs to improve on certain key areas to reach Olympus.
