Freemium

Freemium means the app can be opened free, with a paid plan that removes limits. On companion apps the free slice is usually messages, and the paid slice is memory, adult settings, or media. Luvr has used a signup token grant. Spicy Chat has used a larger free chat. The ranked AI girlfriend list records the pattern we saw, and the review is where the exact number lives.

A freemium page should answer four questions. What works before you pay? What stops? Does the free account renew its limit each day, or is it a one-time sample? What does the cheapest plan cost after the trial? If any answer is missing, we do not fill it in.

Tokens sit on top of freemium so often that the two ideas get blurred. The subscription can be the freemium upgrade, and tokens can be a third spend. Say both. A plan that is cheap and a meter that is hungry is a different product from a plan that includes the media you actually wanted. The Candy AI review is the worked example.

Freemium is not a discount on the score. The free-trial category is 5 percent of the review criteria. A stingy trial can still belong to the best overall app if the paid product is the one that holds up. We would rather show that split than pretend the free tier is the review.

First-look pages with no published price do not get a freemium badge. “Free tier and paid plans” without amounts is not a price. Those pages hide the pricing block.
